Gilani’s elder son barred from meeting father, arrested

Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police, today, arrested the elder son of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, to prevent him from calling on his ailing father.

The police arrested Dr Nayeem Gilani, disallowing him to meet Syed Ali Gilani.

The APHC Chairman’s younger son, Naseem Gilani, told media that his elder brother Dr Nayeem Gilani was arrested by the police today morning. “He was whisked away by the police from the entry gate (of Syed Ali Gilani’s residence) and lodged in Humhama police station,” Naseem Gilani said.

After the arrest of Dr Nayeem Gilani, Naseem Gilani himself was also barred from meeting his ailing father.

“I reached at Hyderpora around 10:30am. But I was not allowed to meet my father. Heavy contingent of forces deployed at Hyderpora did not entertain my plea,” he said.

Naseem Gilani said, the puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, breaks down at the mention of his father but still denies us the right to enquire and meet our ailing father. “Mehbooba Mufti breaks down every time his father’s name is mentioned. We want to know which law prohibits a son from inquiring about his ailing father,” he asked.

Pertinently, according to the protest calendar issued by joint resistance leadership, the APHC Chairman was scheduled to address the Kashmiri nation at 11am today.

Meanwhile, normal life remains affected due to the complete shutdown on 106th successive day, today, to protest against the civilian killings and other brutalities by Indian forces in the Kashmir Valley.
